We believe that many people can be trained on basic to advanced technology based Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) solutions to properly deliver high quality services and product. We believes that key to reliable, valid, and high-quality primary data collection lie in:
- Well-educated local contacts
- Field instruments appropriate to the local context whether the design is survey, semi-structured interview or focus group
- Extensive focus in the pilot phase of pre-testing the instruments, and involving the field teams in the analysis from the resulting pilot data
- Regular, in-person follow-up with field enumerator teams; deploying data quality team to do third-party verification of the fieldwork
- Use of technology without undermining the fundamentals of research and data collection
- Rigorous in house capacity building and tailored training delivered to those involved in data collection; with step-by-step explanations of the entire research process and design
- Proof of undertaking the accountability for all involved in the data collection.
